Our Top 25 Coffee Table Books 2023

Coffee table books are our favourite way to transform any space and add instant personality and sophistication - they are also our favourite house warming gift!

They can sometimes be investment pieces but are a great way to lend insight into your individuality and your interests - whether it be more architectural, cookbooks, fashion or novels - there are really beautiful options below that can make perfect gifts, spruce up your home or provide plenty of inspiration.

Our personal collections have both neutral and coloured books so we can use them in any part of the home and they are more versatile when we are changing up our spaces between the seasons.

Here are some helpful tips for incorporating coffee table books and styling them in your own home…

Entrance Styling

When you walk into a home, the entrance area sets the tone for your guests of what to expect from the rest of your homes spaces.

Our favourite ways of styling an entrance is to stack 2-3 books on an ottoman or add a feature entrance hall table with stacks of coffee table books, statement florals and accessories.

It really is an easy way to incorporate a hint of colour without cluttering!

Coffee Table Styling

Stacking book on your coffee table can be very striking, stick to 1-3 books from smallest to biggest (on the coffee table) and break it up with floral arrangements, sculptural elements or flip open a book on the table to show the beautiful glossy pages.

Play with different levels, we found a beautiful book holder for the table that shows open books, this is a great way to add ‘visual weight’ without adding any additional accessories to the table top.

We also love to add a candle or burn incense for scent, the additional layering feels luxurious and makes your space feel more heavenly.

Cabinetry and Shelf Styling

Adding books to built in cabinetry and shelving around the home is an easy way to add personality, try finding books that have visually interesting spines and a varying size range - book size and thickness.

Keep in mind that selecting books with a paper jacket cover will usually uncover a different colour book underneath which means more options!

We recommend selecting some books that have the same colours as existing interior pieces in the room as well as some options that have contrast so that it all ties nicely together.

Bedside Table Styling

Adding books to your bedside table is a great way to add to your bedroom scheme and can complement bedlinen colours or artwork.

We like to style bedside tables with 1-2 feature books, an accessory and a candle with a feature bedside table lamp. Consider the colour of the items you put on your bedside, these can pick up colours in bedding, feature scatter cushions or blankets.

Both bedsides also do not need to be the same - there are no rules! We enjoy mixing it up and doing books and accessories on one side and florals on the other.
